IEEE 1394 question

I currently have a firewire card in my system that came with my UMAX scanner and I've been using it for
capturing video from my Sony TRV27. Lately I've been wondering should I buy a Pinnacle Systems card instead. My question is will I see any difference in picture quality if I should decide to buy Pinnacle's card?

no. its digital. signal won't be better. it might be a tad bit faster, but probably not.

Don't waste your money. Firewire is iLink is IEEE 1394 is SB1394, it's all the same.

Yep, I even use the Firewire connector on an Audigy for capture from TRV27. Should work the same as any other -- no need to waste money.
