IE9

People that have trouble with the installer failing - that will happen if you have the Test Drive/Release Candidate installed. Uninstall it first (From Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program -> View Installed Updates -> Right-Click and Remove) and then perform the installation.

Yeah, I'm not sure why you can't install it over the Test Drive/Beta/RC/Whatever but you have to remove the prior version first.

You're using Win7, right?
Yes, Win 7 Professional 64 bit.

I did manage to install it. I think the problem was I was using Firefox and downloaded the installer to a hard drive. When I used Internet Explorer and ran the installer from there, it installed OK. Probably some kind of Active X deal.
It seems pretty fast, but I noticed it will save passwords on some websites, but not others.

is the password saving issue seemingly random? do the pws save on other browsers on the same site?

Yeah, pretty random. About 20% of the sites would save the password. The saving feature works fine on Firefox, I was transferring the usernames and passwords from the Firefox password list. Firefox has the password saving exemption list, I didn't see a similar feature on IE9.

that sounds pretty crazy. have you tested this out on another machine? wondering if anyone else has seen this issue?

I hate IE9 and want to go back to IE8. Yes, I know it's bloated and buggy but it works for me. How do I go back? It isn't listed in my Programs and Features file. Why do I hate IE9? I don't know, I just hate it. Guess it comes from my advanced age and a strong suspicion of all things new.

What do you not like about IE9? At least give it a few days.

I always hate new things at first. I hated moving to Firefox and later moving to Chrome. I hated moving to Windows 7. Etc etc.
