IE9 wants me to know that only secure content is displayed

On every other webpage I have this hideous yellow abomination warning me only secure content is displayed. It's happy to help me understand "What are the risks?" and it's happy to go away if I click the little X a couple hundred times an hour.


Anyone know how I can tell IE IDGAF and make it stop?

Go into Tools > Internet Options. Reset all security zones to default level?

Hmm. Maybe: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset...

I did the reset all settings to default. It made my homepage reset, toolbars reset, everything. No effect on problem though :*(

Start > REGEDIT > HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer
Start > REGEDIT > HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Internet Explorer

Back-up keys just in case to .reg file, then delete them, restart, and allow IE to re-create them from scratch.

You running 64-bit or 32-bit IE?

IE 32 bit on Windows 7. It's an HP flavored version (err at least my default homepage is something hpish on msnbc.com)

If it's 32 bit IE on 64 bit Windows, the reg locations are slightly different.

Start > REGEDIT > HKCU > Software > Wow6432Node > Microsoft > Internet Explorer
Start > REGEDIT > HKLM > Software > Wow6432Node > Microsoft > Internet Explorer

Big fail on Microsoft's part if the "Reset..." options on the Advanced tab refused to reset this option.

Huh? The message you were talking about is the one that prevents embedded external images in Gmail (you are on a secure site but the images are from a different site that you did not log in securely to). "Only secure content is displayed." That's completely different from warning you that you are leaving a secure page or notifying you that you are entering one (scammers and hackers could get away with a phish by having only the home page be "secure" after logging in if you didn't notice being forwarded elsewhere when clicking "next").
