IE8 in Win7 - Is Protected Mode on or not?

Installed Win7 HP 32 bit and noticed that IE8 says it is not running in protected mode.

But looking at IE8 tools > options > security, the checkbox for it is enabled.

Anybody else notice this?

Edit: I figured it out, it's because I was in the Admin account. Users are in protected mode.

Also turning off UAC will disable it no matter if its enabled in IE.
