IE7 WGA question

I download a copy of IE7 and went to install it but it wanted to do a WGA authentication check, if I let it will it install WGA onto my system or will it just do a check like it claims?
P.S I hate WGA, what the hell does MS think I'm going to do? replace a valid copy of XP with a pirate copy?

My copy is legal and valid, I'd just prefer to avoid WGA.

Why? How exactly is it inconveniencing you? What's the big deal about software validation if it's something that you're going to install? Since you claim to be legit then you should have no concerns.

There are ways around the IE7 validation but I am not going to post it.

Well for one the fact that it will be phoning home to MS once it's installed, I have a problem with it if it phones home more then once. I also don't want it on my system due to all of the problems it's given other people. I don't want to know a work around I just want to know if it runs once to check when I install IE7 or if it installs to my system.
