IE7 is now an automatic update for WinXP. Are you going to install it?

So there's a little exclamation point icon next to my WinXP clock.

IE7 is now an automatic update.

I'm sticking to IE6 till IE7 SP1 is out.

1) What r u going to do?

FYI:
"This free upgrade to Internet Explorer for genuine Windows customers..."

2) hm.. wonders what happens if u d/l it but have the devil's serial #?

I already installed it on my home and work PCs. Been using it instead of FireFox since it was officially released.

You are forced to upgrade to IE 8.
😀

IE7 = Opera >> FF2.

I like IE7 the best though. And yes, install IE7. It's awesomer by 100x than IE6. I took a look @ IE7 during its beta days, and never looked back. Used FF before.

Fudge no, and we are recommended that our users also not upgrade until we can determine if it is compliant with all our software packages.

I'm still sticking with IE6. I don't like my browser to be loaded up with frills and thrills. I like a good, solid, minimalist browser.
BTW, forget devil's own. Millions of serials out there doesn't authenticate.

i have it installed but for some reason it preforms much slower than firefox which i've been using for a while now...

P4 2.4c
2GB DDR3200
Raptor 36GB drive

XP Pro w/all updates

I already installed it a few days ago. Why wouldn't you?

IE7 is a lot more secure than IE6 and it will be getting most of the future support.

You're going to sacrifice this for this because of an RSS reader, tabs and a new "minimalist" GUI?

Just upgraded to IE7 on my second work PC and don't like the layout whatsoever. I want to be able to move the buttons, toolbars, etc around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are there any tweaks or hacks that allow me to do this? If there are, I will upgrade my home PC...otherwise I'm sticking to IE6 there.

I thought you would know how to BillGates 😉

I upgraded both my desktop and laptop to IE7. I love it so far.

I also upgraded both to WMP 11.

I like the new layout of IE7... never used too many of the buttons at the top other than back/forward and history/favorites anyways.

I have firefox installed and use it occasionally, but mostly when I want to save videos or download certain web pages using extensions

There's a registry hack that will move the navigation bar below the menubar, but it also moves it below your other toolbars if applicable (like Google Toolbar). It's not hard to get used to though.

There is no reason what so ever to not get IE7. I personally use Firefox 2, however, some things still require Internet Explorer, mainly Windows Update. For this, and this alone, I downloaded and installed IE7. IE7 is without any question better than IE6. IE7 has over IE6 what Firefox had over IE6; more features and better security, so there is no reason at all to not install it.

😕 Last I checked, IE7 is more good, solid, and minimalist than IE6. It looks a lot cleaner, and the button placements are very intuitive.

and ya, I only use FF just to dl stuff from links from IMs

Nope, no need, and who knows what kind of evil stuff it will install while installing IE7 in the name of better 'security'. I use FF2, IE is only used when doing windows updates, so I don't have to worry about security issues with ie6.

I don't mind getting IE7.

But the redesign I'm not used to yet. even with the tabs, force of habit I select open in in new. or I click the IE quick launch when I want to get another window.

Already got it some time ago but it remains my second browser. Avant Browser is my default application.
