I installed the IE7 beta awhile back and someone told me how to make it look like IE6. I then uninstalled it for awhile and have just installed it again. I can't remember what I did to get it to look like IE6 again. help please.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]
"ITBar7Position"=dword:00000001

I think this might do it.

no, it definitely wasn't a registry hack.

it had to do with the settings. I thought it was under the tools menu but nothing there seems to do what i want.

Are you wanting the Menu Bar? If so, just right-click on the grey toolbar area and you'll see menu options.

i have the menu bar, but its in the middle, i want it up top. i can't drag it around. i unlocked the toolbars. I alos want my home, refresh, stop, etc buttons back where they were in IE6

also, is there a way to make a new tab open up my home page?

internet options > general > tabs > settings > select "Open home page for new tabs instead of blank page"

Not sure how to move the home, back, fwd, etc buttons though. Lack of "old school" customization in IE7 is annoying.

thanks. and the registry hack did move the menu bar up top. now to find out how to move the other buttons.

also, getting used to tabs is a pain.

Tabs are very nice, and what's even better is the box with the 4 little squares (quick tabs) to the left of the first tab. :p
