If you ever used FF, you'll know IE7 has a lot of its features. MS is so jadded, millions of dollars spent on inovations & this is the best they can come up with, how pathetic is that??🙁

Well, they might be too busy paying fines imposed by Fair Trade Commissions around the world. I think EU also ordered MS to make unbundled version of Windows available to consumers. They got a lot going on for sure.

Another Maxthon user (an IE wrapper): Tabs, REAL full screen, add blocker, skins, more skins than FF ever thought possible. Anyway, I've shared too much, 'cause those of use who use Maxthon like having it too ourselves.

Been using IE7 beta for months, it crashes too often. Try opening up 6 or 7 tabs and soon after you get the "internet explorer has encounted a problem" and it closes.

Been using IE7Beta for a couple of months with NO problems whatsoever. Upon first use, I accidently opened all of my links in one of my favorites folders. I had 11 tabs open and no errors! I'll have 2 or 3 IE7's open with multiple tabs in each and I just love it!

Just an FYI: Most IE crashes come from 'browser add-ons'. The only add-on I use for IE is Bugnosis.

I used to use maxthon back in the day, until i had developed an incurable liking for a plethora of ffox extensions...

AIW / ATI TV CARD USERS INFO

Those of you who enjoy using ATI MMC and having the integrated TV in the browser, it works when a new IE window opens just as it always has. HOWEVER, tabbed browsing does NOT. If you open a new tab, TV shifts to it, but clicking back on the previous tab shows just a dark TV screen without video.

installed IE7 final version and I still can't go to the URL that I type in by hitting "enter" or hitting "go" button. Unless I hit ESC right away upon opening IE7 so that nothing is loaded, then, I can get to the URL that I type in. It must be some of the Add On's that are causing this problem. I had to revert back to IE6...too bad. Anybody experienced this problem before?

Not bad, I'm a firefox user and it's similar. They simply need to make a quick links toolbar or something of that sort. Actually now I just added that... This is pretty much just a firefox clone.

I used the beta versaion and this final version and have not had this problem. I don't use any add-on's however.

I still use IE6 mainly as opposed to FF. FF just gets really quirky with certain site and pisses me off. The only thing IE6 does is not block ads, but I do find myself occassionaly using FF. (Such as with bluesnews and their stupid annoying ads)
I'll try IE7 later and see how that works, but from what I hear (fromt you guys) it is just about the same as FF.

Thanks. The add-on's are from IE6. I have no idea what is causing the problem. It is driving me crazy!

IE7 vulnerability discovered already

It is the half-year old information disclosure vulnerability which allows malicious sites to sneak on the content of other sites which hasn't been patched in the brand new IE7 release.

Online demonstration of the vulnerability here:

Microsoft knew about this bug for six months and chose not to patch it and release IE 7 Final anyway... why?!

Your [IE 7.0] browser is vulnerable! The test retrieved content from ... in the context of your browser.

This actually means that if you were logged into your bank account, any web site you are visiting would be able to retrieve confidential data from your bank. This could also be used to retrieve personal settings entered on sites like eBay or Paypal.

Secunia themselves have rated the bug "less critical", and it exists in both IE 6 and IE 7. Hopefully Microsoft addresses it in a future patch.

I've never had a problem opening up more than 7 tabs. As a matter of fact I have 35 tabs open and my machine is running fine. I think more than likely there's something wrong with your computer. Screen cap of my windows summary here

About that security flaw I read that it stems from outlook and not ie7.

for the people complaining that FF doesnt render pages 'correctly:'
this is due to the fact that IE 6 and earlier does not follow standards set forth by the WC3, particularly when it comes to applying CSS rules. Some web developers, don't care what the WC3 says and just want to reach the largest market share, IE users. So they code their site to work in IE and sometimes (very often) the same code does not render the same in any browser that correctly follows the standards of the WC3, which includes for the most part, every other browser out there, not just FF.

And for sites that dont work, it is most likely because they are using activeX scripting which only IE supports and can be a major security risk if you install activeX controls from a malicious site. ActiveX does allow for some cool things but as a user its not worth the risk IMO.

Wait, "any web site you are visiting would be able to retrieve confidential data from your bank. This could also be used to retrieve personal settings entered on sites like eBay or Paypal."

...but it's not critical?!

I don't understand how we can value ratings more than what the bug is...

I just did a quick test and it seems when you open the bookmarks tab/button thing, you can start typing the bookmark name.

For instance, I have bookmarks that start with Por... Photo...etc. When I type in Ph, it goes to a photography bookmark.

I haven't done any extensive testing since I did this in about 5 seconds at 1:30 in the morning so I may be hallucinating or imagining things.

Good luck!
