IE6 not prompting to download zip files...

I have Internet Explorer 6 / Windows XP Pro.. for some reason, every time I click on a download link of a zip file, it doesn't prompt me to open it or save it to disk or anything like it use to.. it just sits there and I see the little windows sign in the top right corner moving around for a bit until the zip file is opened in new window. I get the download prompt for EXE files, so I think its just something with ZIP. Does anyone know how to get it back the way it was?

I tried deleting the cookies and temporary internet files, reset the web settings and restored the default advanced settings... didn't help.

well if i remember well there is an option in the IE OPTIONS , i think in one of the last Tabs that says restore defaults...
click there and restart IE.
Sometime in the past you pressed the option to save all .zip files that's y IE doesnot ask u any more...

if wrong please correct me..cheers.

keep it . .real..

Thanks for the suggestion.. but:

Control Panel->Folder Options. Then Click on File Types tab and then 'scroll' down to the zip ext. Highlight it and hit the advanced button.

Make sure there is a check-mark in. "Confirm open after download" This should fix your problem.

No problem man. If you ever have a problem with other ext. types. You can fix by doing it the same way.
