IE6 keeps putting a shortcut to My Documents in my Favorites folder

since i don't use ie6, i don't know if this will work or not, but try ...
1. go to your fav directory
2. remove my documents folder (if any)
3. create a text file called my documents, then make it read only (so it can't be replaced by a folder again later)
4. make the file hidden, so it won't show up in ie's fav menu

hopefully it will work ... if not, well, i dunno ... like i said, i never tried it, so .....

In IE6, open Favorites, then click on Organize Favorites. Then tell it to delete any folder you don't want.

Actually I like getting rid of the "My Documents" folder completely as was suggested. If there was ever a childishly arcane feature in Windows, it is the "My Documents" folder . . . it is a general PITA!

why dont you just right click the folder in favorites go to properties and then select hidden.

close down your ie and presto its gone
