IE6: Images don't always load

Anyone know why some images don't appear sometimes when you load a web page....Happens a lot when I try to several web pages such as this forum. It's pretty much random and frequent with ANY web site. I'll right click the image and "show picture" to load that missing image, but it's annoying always having to do that. It happens on a consistent basis....

Couldn't find any help on the web or with MS KB. It's been happening even after unrelated reinstallations of WinXP. IE has always been updated fully.

I might be wrong in this - but it could be a bandwidth issue. The server sending you images might time out (or possibly the timing out is coming from your end and the images aren't arriving fast enough) - which means the little cross in a box appears. The more images you try to download at once - the worse this will be.

Cheers,

Andy

I can speculate that more images may increase the probability....

But I am on RoadRunner. I get up to almost 2000kbps downloads. Pages load up fast, just sometimes without an image. Especially images that are placed multiple times in a page (e.g. this forum)

You might try using Opera or Mozilla. Then you could pin down whether or not it's a problem specific to IE. It could be some obscure hardware problem with your NIC or something after all. Ideally, you could hook up a different system running IE6 and see if the same thing happens.
