I just installed nt4 on my system (because I use it at work and I wanted to experiment with it), and it comes with ie2, and no quick launch..
from old knowledge, I know that I need to install ie4 to get the active desktop enhancements which include the quick launch and other good utilities like right clicking in the start menu, and left clicking on programs to minimize them...
these are all utilities that I've grown used to, and they even have them on nt4 at work.. so I'm a having hard time without them...
I just need ie4.. I know that later versions of ie (5 & 6) don't have this enhancement included...
so I took out some really old backup cds, and I found ie4, but they're all full downloads but for win9x...
it says you have to download off the web, so I say ok, and then it gives me an error.. most probably because microsoft doesn't distribute it anymore..
so my question is does anyone have the installation files for ie4 on NT4?
or maybe a simple ripped installation of just the active desktop? (I tried installing from the CABS the ie4shell.inf and then had to reinstall windows)
