IE windows maximized...doesn't work

Heya guys, I;m trying to figure out how to get my IE windows to load up already maximized. When I start IE, they are "almost" maximized, with a small gap usually at the bottom. I tried maximizing, then immediately closing, and this will work until I re-start my computer.

any ideas what may be wrong? Using IE 6, WinXP Pro.

I would also really love to know the answer to this question. Everyone seems to experience it at one time or another and pretty much everyone gets annoyed with it.. someone must have figured out how to make every IE window open maximized!

Well, my suggestion technically isn't maximixed, but it takes up all the space you have available.

Have one webpage open, and shift-click a link.
Close the other page, then resize the page you just opened to it's biggest size.
Hold CTRL and close it (X).
Repeat and see if it works. For me, it did and all my new windows take up the whole screen. It's not maximized, though, but still...is there another way? *shrug*

I hope this is good enough for ya....

aw cmon guys... this is a pretty easy one...

right click on your shortcut and goto properties then look for 'RUN'.... select MAXIMIZED 😉

Won't that just run it maximized the first time you open it with the shortcut? would it have anything to do with new windows that are opened from within Internet Explorer itself?

I have that originally done for my IE icon in the Quick Launch bar, but it's when you shift-click a link to a new site. Ya know what I'm sayin'??? 🙂

ohhhh now i hear ya 😉

hmm well id try maximising the window and the closing... that ol thang...
