IE window opening sizes?

Sorry to ask a noob question, and yes I have searched, but running IE 6, XP, SP 2 and why does IE always open the next window at some half ass size? Like, I'm looking at something and right click a link to "open in new window", and that new window opens up in an odd spot at like 1/4 size. How the heck do I get it to open in a full window?
