IE strikes again!

IN MEMORIAM
I use FF 3 for a web browser and haven't had any problems til now. FF used to auto login to my gmail account, Anandtech and, other frequently visited sites. Well, the other day, I wanted to check an old site that hadn't been updated in a long time that looked odd due to poor coding so, I used IE to see if it looked any different in that browser.

Other than asking me if I wanted to make IE my default browser (no thank you), nothing was changed, However, now when I go to gmail, anandtech and others, I have to manually log in. My user name and password appears in the login screen but I have to click log in to view my account, post etc.

I've checked FF for FAQ and searched their knowledge base to no avail. :brokenheart:

Update: 4/8/09 Out of the blue, hardocp started working correctly ie. automatically logging me in when I go to the site. Anandtech continues to force me to make that ever so arduous mouse click to sign on. 🙁

Update: 4/28/09

Suddenly I'm logging in automatically again. No changes were made to any browser. No, OS updates or addons made. The intarweb fairies just decided to allow auto login once again. I really would like to know how this happened in the first place and how it was fixed without me changing anything?

Thanks for the reply but, "Remember passwords for sites" is already checked. When I used to click on the link for Anandtech for example, it would automatically sign me in. Now, after using IE exactly once and making no changes, when I click on the link for Anandtech, I get the sign in page with my user name and password already filled in but requiring me to click the log in button. You know us old geezers trying to save clicks. 🙂 Mostly, I was curious how this behavior changed by running IE instead of FireFox?
