Flashblock = no more annoying flash ads

But does it also block flash you want to see on a page? Like menus?

If it does a good job targetting those @#(*@# Flash ads without messing up Flash I want to see I might give FF a shot. Unless maybe there's an IE plugin that does the same thing.

All Flash programs are replaced with a button that you have to press to actually run them.
So if you wanna play a flash game or something, just press the button.
If you dont want some annoying ad with barking dogs and crap, leave it be.
The best of both worlds.

But having to click to activate every flash menu or flash game would just be another pain in the ass =(

If only it had a "smart" way of detecting the flash ads that are like popups (but worse) and just automatically let menus/games be loaded.

Well, obviously the popup blocker takes care of those ads 🙂

As for menus, maybe Im just strange, but since I found Flashblocker, I've only ran into one or two sites that use Flash for menus.
And trust me, even then, it's worth it by a long long shot, to not have to endure the lameness that is 95% of the flash out there.

oh i just discovered something elsethis page has a quick reply box at the bottom of the page and ie does not. open this page in both and you will see whay i mean

Just like Opera 7.xx 😉.

Firefox sux because of its memory holes and ie is a nightmare for pop ups. Just go get mozilla. Just thin it out. It is just better in my opinion
.

Everybody has their favourite browser,I prefer Opera 7.50, the speed/stability is awesome.

ok i will try opera im already gettin used to not looking for the ie icon and i removed favorites from the start menu so i would have to use ff instead. so far no prob but it is a little slower at startup than ie prob because ie is part of explorer and therefore memory resident

so far hate the adds and it feels cluttered and clumsy but we will see
indeed a qr box at bottom

The adds is on the free version only, when you pay for registered version it goes away,as to being clumsy it`s not, you can add/remove/change so many things with Opera and it does take awhile to learn a lot of the functions because there`re so many, infact tailor it to your own needs,in the end its really personal preference.

actually ie has it too. just need to turn on quick reply then "dock" it

im with you there with the exception of the little tool called ieimage that gives you a a page with all of the thumbnails blown up so you do not have to click back etc to see all of the pics on a page. is there something like this for ff i hope so

Alt-tab is quicker than pointing on a tab icon? Try ctrl-tab then.........
I was going to mention this, but ctrl-tab is still tougher. Small details... but so is the time difference ... I'd rather alt-tab.

How much time can you save from using ALT+TAB instead of CTRL+TAB??

And how is it tougher? 😕

Ditto. My favorite features are tabbed browsing (since browsing forums means minimum 10+ forums open), plugins (especially ad-block, download sort, and bookmarks synch), themes (well it's alright), typing links, and the fact that it's not IE (and therefore less targeted by spyware and other exploits).

I use mozilla just about everywhere. Keeping one piece of software on all of my machines is easier than switching between different programs.

googlebar's popup blocker doesn't work well for me. Not sure why though.

I love IE. Why, because it works. I always have some kind of difficulty with Mozilla Browsers, if it's with Real Player or some flash items not working properly. IE always works, but they are technically no longer supported, so I moved to Mozilla, however, I still wish I was on IE. And IE loads without and tray icon very quickly.

And Firefox still has the same problems with flash and realplayer, but no longer needs the try icon which is an improvement. It's still a beta though, so we'll have to see.

Flash problems?
That's got nothing to do with FF/Mozilla, once you install the plugin, what runs is Macromedia's program, Firefox in itself has nothing to do with playing the Flash.

yeah, but macromedia runs well in IE.

also this problem.

flash problems as in animated toolbars on a webpage, I think it's flash, but even if it's not IE does it much better.
