IE open Image Files in itself and not launch a different program

My wife's PC doesn't have an up to date Image Viewing program (Paint Shop Pro, etc) so she can't open large files. I know IE can view image files but if you go to IE and choose Open and go find the file, it just launches PSP which doesn't work. Is there any way to make stupid IE open the picture in itself instead of launching a different program? It's IE6.

Thanks.

in the explorer file list, hold down shift, and right click on the file (jpg and/or gif). Then do 'open with' and 'chose program' select ie6 from the list....check 'always use this program' or (whatever it says at the bottom). Then anytime you click on that file type, ie6 will be the default viewer.

In IE6, there's an 'autosize' graphics setting that works well to show the large graphics on screen....in internet options > advanced.

You can also open a My Computer window or Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options (or go there directly from control panel too) and go to the File Types tab and change the settings for whichever ones you need. 🙂
