Under tools -> Internet options I try to change my homepage to google, from what the IT department has it as.

I change it, hit "apply", and "ok". However, it does not keep the change. Next time I hit the home button it still goes to the same slow corporate page.

sounds like they have some nice group policys or something similar setup. You might not be able to chanage that. Just use a bookmark.

No, but that's what I was implying. If IE is setup to not accept the change, I might be able to alter it in a file somewhere.

go to google, drag the favicon from your address bar to your desktop, replace your IE shortcut you use with that one.

Circumventing corporate policy is stupid. You'll be ok without google as your home page, don't hit the home button.

If you can get compromising pics of your IT people, then you might be able to get somewhere, though :D

The problem is that the corporate home page is very bloated and slow. It loads all sorts of personalized modules, training, and corporate news. I want something that just opens quickly so I can go where I want.

I have to open IE, and then press stop every time.
