IE in XP text size keeps changing and the status bar keeps dissapearing

I am runnning a clean install of XP now and this still happens.
The text size keeps changing on it's own to small and the status bar that I want keeps getting unchecked, again on it's own.
This has happened on this computer through three fresh installs of XP pro corporate edition.
Anyone know if there is a way to fix this?

Thanks,
Mark

Windows/Internet explorer can't remember to keep the status bar. This is all MS has to say about this.. Explorer also fails to remember column width sizing and other things. Very lame. 🙁

You can fix the status bar easily... open windows explorer, go to folder options, turn on the status bar, and choose to make all folders look like the current one. That changes the behavior for both Windows Explorer and IE6. Definitely one of the dumbest "features" in XP so far.

Credit to another poster in the forum for mentioning this a couple weeks ago.
