IE History not clearing completely

I recently tried clearing my Internet Explorer 6 history (running Windows XP Pro SP1) and it all cleared, but when I click on the Address bar to type in a website, it will come up in the drop down bar as if the history had not been cleared. It's not for every website, just certain ones. Brief example:

Say I go to www.shoryuken.com/forums, and www.google.com
I clear my history.
I type in "www.sh" or "www.sho" or whatever, and shoryuken still appears in the drop down box as if I had never cleared my history. I type "www.go" and google does NOT appear in the drop down box.

I have auto complete off, and this never used to happen. Why are some sites remaining in my drop down Address box even after I clear history?

What you want to do is right click your start menu and select properties. in XP, it's classic start menu->customize
"to remove records of recently accessed documents, programs, and Web sites, click Clear." (press clear button next to that)

Basically, whatever the version, you have to clear your windows document history to get rid of 'dem pr0n links in the address bar

Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. I'd also like to know WHY this started happening. Clearing my history USED to clear that drop down bar of everything. Why did that change? The only thing I can possibly think of is I have installed Google Toolbar. I don't remember noticing this problem before then. I don't see why that would do it though.

Heh, nah I'm 20 and off in college. My parents are so computer illiterate they don't even know what the Start button does, so even when I'm back home I don't have to hide porn (not that I download any!!!!!1). I just like to keep my computer running clean, even if it's just to clean off pointless things like internet history.
