IE has random popups, even when browsing NON-popup sites!

I ran adaware and a few other programs, there's absolutely nothing detected by them. Not a thing. Yet when I go to sites with no popups, random crap pops up.

I have the google toolbar, and it's still annoying as all hell. Even when I post a message on the forums, I get a popup some times!

I checked add/remove programs and there's nothing bad there at all. :|

I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm at the computer again, but wouldn't some of the many programs detect said spyware??

yes, but you got to use a combination to get it all, some detect this or that, use CWShredder, Spybot, adaware, online virus scanner (housecall), then post your hijackthis log for review to clean up whatever is left. There is no "one program fixes all"

I use all of the following programs to clean infected systems on a daily basis.

[*]Spysweeper 3.0
[*]Ad Aware SE 1.03
[*]Spybot 1.3
[*]Hijack This 1.98.2

I then run an online virus scan using Housecall & Panda.

Yup, that seems abotu right. I had the same problem before. I usually solved it by uninstalling. Little did i know back then.

he probably works in IT and does this on user computers, john is good about security, i highly doubt his own PC gets infected with spyware often.
