i've been overclocking my 2.8c and getting these IE error msgs:

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module mshtml.dll, version 6.0.2800.1400, fault address 0x000361ca.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

any ideas what this means? i don't get much errors in other apps except for this explorer error when overclocking. currently running 2.8 @ 3.37 - 1.675vcore , mem 2.5-4-4-8 2.8 vdimm, 1.6 agpv.

OS used? Do you have Gator installed? It was know to cause such errors.

I had such problems before but I cannot recall how I got rid of it. I am not sure it is oc related.

At default speed, would you also get similart message?

Gator is a download manger that is known to spy on your usage. If you don't have any problem at default speed, then your problem must be oc related.

I can tell you my oc experience w/ p4 3.0c (a lot different from my prev oc experience). It seems to me that the most sensitive indicator of oc problem is Acrobat reader 6.0(!!!???) At high enough speed, I'd get errors from Acrobar 6.0 often but the system would be "very stable" under all othe apps. I was almost ready to wrtie it off as a bad software problem till I did the long term prime95 large fft custom test. Under the large fft custom test, my pc would reboot after 12 - 48 hrs. If I cut down the oc to the degree that I don't have Acrobat reader 6.0 error, then I am ok with such prime95 tests for a long time (>80hrs). Go figure.

I am not suggesting that you have oc problem -- it is most likely still software related (I think I solved one of my past problems similar to yours after a reinstall) - but it is something to think about.

I Hopfe you find the problem. Good luck.

ive got the same errors before.. sometimes its mshtml. or kernel32.... i dont remember how i got rid of it but i gues it was my constant installing, reinstalling XP... 🙁

yeah lotsa programs give me errors when the system isn't fully stable
just back some of your overclocks and/or voltages down/up a bit (might need more voltage and heat can also be a concern)
try default settings for a day or so and see if the problem persists

good luck

after you overclock, you should run prime95 ("blend" mode) for a few hours. Monitor your temps while doing so.

If prime can run for hours with no errors, your overclock is probably good, and it's not a hardware issue.

I'd say the problem is with the memory, as IE uses ALOT of memory and is probably exposing a corruption somewhere. Try relaxing the latency to CAS3 and see if that fixes the problem.
