IE error on @home network (Win2k)

Senior member
I am on @home, on a duel booting win98/2k machine. I am also running ZoneAlarm. Whenever I start IE 5.01, I says I am not connected, work offline or try again. I click try again and the internet goes through. I am using a Linksys BFSRV41 as well.
Any help??

I have the exactly same configuration as your's. But I never had any problem. I guess you need to check "Automatically detect settings" under "Local Area Network settings" dialog.

I have the exact same problem... but I find that it only happens when I just started my PC and runs IE immediately... if I boot up my PC and let it sit for a while before I run IE, I dont get that problem... I guess it may be win2k connecting to the network or something...

Anyways, I rarely turn off my PC now so I just ignore it...
