IE Crashing while browsing articles on main page.

My apologies if this has been asked and resolved prior to my post. Of course I have tried searching, but to no avail.

When I click the "next page" link at the bottom of articles, IE crashes. I had this problem with Firefox at home (not related to AT, Myspace actually), which seemed to be fixed by setting my memory timings to default. Here at work, I do not have access to these sorts of things or Firefox (which I strongly prefer). Have any of you experienced this here on the main page? Has anyone had this problem with other webpages? What can I do?

I have this problem as well; came here to post a thread about it and saw yours.

I'm running IE6, SP2+all the latest patches. No probs w/any other site or pages. The forums here are fine for me; except for Motherboards, where I still can't post/reply to threads.

You mean like going here and clicking the "Abit AB9 Pro: Feature Set" link to go to the next page? It's fine for me in XP x64/IE6 32-bit. I have the standard Flash plugins and a virtually empty HOSTS file (I'm not blocking dynamic.anandtech.com).

The articles work fine for me on Win XP Pro SP2 w/ IE 7

What can I do?

Upgrade to IE7 (if your OS is supported) or use an alternative web browser.

I'm assuming that's what they mean. I can't find any links labled "next page" . It all works for me with IE6/XP.

Amazing...you never seem to have symptoms of any forum-software related issues. You must have the most perfect browser ever to be installed on the PC. How is this possible?

At work, we're running W2K, SP4 and IE6 SP2 on the clients (with all available updates). I can post in Motherboards, but the ad never fully loads (I.E. logo keeps spinning, bottom of screen still shows "loading XYDSAS.....whatever."

But you never have any symptoms at all...how is this possible?

LOL. I think it's the other way around. The majority of people don't have any problems. So far 3 people out of 150,000 have reported your motherboard posting problem and the same for the "next page". That leaves lots and lots of us who don't have any problems. I do have the pages-take-10-or-more-seconds-to load-at-times problem and advanced search sure doesn't work for me, but that's all.

Exactly.

Sorry for the delay in response! The computer I have trouble with is at work. I answer phones for an hour and a half here and that is when I do my browsing. I only have trouble at this workstation. Updating IE is not an option as is using another browser (the receptionist was caught with too many installed programs, so our Admin locked her out of everything).

This might be an issue with an outdated version of Flash (can't install the newest version due to permissions) or it could be Java related (also outdated). I'm sure I'm answering my own questions here, though.:laugh:

Thanks for your responses. I think I'm limited to browsing the main page on my workstation or at home. Unless I can convince our Admin to get these things updated :scold:NO PLAYING AT WORK:scold:.

Crashs in IE6 on my wifes PC running Win2k... all my other computers are fine though.

Do you guys have problems if you update to Flash 9? It's probably an ActiveX problem if it only happens with IE6/IE7.
