About 2 weeks ago my IE6 at work got into a state where it would launch, and after a few seconds looking for the home page, POOF the window was gone. I have it set to a company webpage, that's where I go to do a lot of work.
Sadly, my favorite browser Opera doesnt work quite right with that page, so going to that page is really the only thing I use IE for, and only at work.
I tried changing the home page to various things, no luck. I tried turning off popup blockers, lowering security settings etc (I have seen Opera shut itself down at sites that are trying to do popups)
IE 6 is what is the default on company laptops, but no one could think of a reason why I could not upgrade, so I downloaded IE 7 hoping it would fix itself. Nope, still the same
So what could kill the IE window?
Interestingly, it WILL open from an email link, so I sent myself an email with the homepage I want as an embedded link. That's the only way I know to get it to come up and stay up.
And once it is open, clicking the Home icon works fine.
