IE 6 Playing all my damn multimedia files...

Anyone know how to make IE6 not play EVERYTHING?? Every type of movie/music file it opens that toolbar on the left and plays it. Anyone know how to disable it?

associate the file types with another program. goto help and look up file associations

go to the tools, internet options, adavanced, and then scroll down to multimedia. Now pick and choose your options.

actually just re-read your post. do you mean web files or files on your computer? if it's files on your computer, follow hungrypete's instructions.

it was on the web... fixed it though..

there was also some settings under Media Options under the toolbar itself... Even though the option to disable in Internet Options was checked, i had to check off the ones on the toolbar itself as well...
