IE 6 insists on alphabetizing my links

I've checked the MS Knowledgebase, and they suggest right-clicking on a link in the favorites window and de-selecting sort by name. Unfortunately, a right click does not give that option. I've already made sure the toolbars are not locked. What else can I try? Arrgghh!!!

Thanks in advance 🙂

I can drag them around but once I exit the Organize Favorites window, they still stay the same as before. 🙁

I'm having the same problem. I think I might have figure out a solution though.

1. Close all browser windows.
2. Open one IE window.
3. move the links.
4. close the window.
5. open IE again and it seems to stick.

I think the problem when I was rearranging them before is that I had other IE windows open. The state got saved based on the last window closed and that was probably not the one I moved them around in. We'll see if my theory holds true.

Are you right clicking on the drop down menu looking for the sort by name option, or going into the organize favorites option? Try just right clicking on the menu itself and unchecking sort by name.

It wasn't checked.

BTW, my test so far has been working. The Yahoo link is still nestled between Penny Arcade and Diesel Sweeties instead of sorting to the bottom.
