IE 6.05 (from SP2) in SP1?

I have a driver problem with my gateway laptop in WinXP SP2. The wireless button has a huge lag (> 1 min) when turning the wireless connection ON. No lag when turning it OFF. It's so annoying that it single-handedly forced me back to SP1.

But I really liked SP2's IE, especially the pop-up blocker. It's more effective and feels faster than SP1's IE with google toolbar. I did a search and found some beta versions of IE 6.05, which is suppose to be the IE in SP2.

Am I after a lost cause?

It's been all over the news. The only way to get updates to IE is through xp service packs now.

And yes, I use Firefox too. But it's just nice to have the new IE update if possible.

Just get the newest firefox from the moox webpage (google it) and you won't look back. . .
