IE 5.5 or 5.1 which is better?

I`ve just switched back to 5.1 ,I was getting random lockups with IE 5.5 (had to hard reboot) on Win98 OS1 after awhile anyway 5.1 seems more stable to me no lockups what about you guys what are you using?

After hearing about problems with 5.5, I'm sticking with 5.01 until M$ forces me to upgrade (which they always manage to do somehow). Hopefully, though, M$ skips to 5.6 or something and fixes any and all buggies first.

IE5.5 has been absolutely flawless for me on both machines (older NT4 - k6-2/233, 128; newer 2Kpro - celly550, 256)...

i havent had any problems with it. do you have all of the latest updates for it?

I went up to 5.5 and my suspend no longer worked on my monitor and the whole system just hung. Went back to 5.1 and all is well. Don't know what causes the problem but there is a conflict with 5.5 and something in my computer. I am also using win2k.

IE5.5 is working great on my win98, winme, and win2k machines.

No problems here with 5.5 on Win98 SE. I'm not quite sure of the differences, but it certainly seems stable and quick.

I have problems with 5.5. Main reason I hate Windows ME (even though I have it installed )

I know what u mean about WinME....love/hate relationship.....5.5 locks up on me randomly and gets real annoying at times. Make for real fun when trying to snipe at auctions....hehe

same here....i hate ME too...I reverted back to win98se which is by far the best OS for me....5.1 wins hands down coz. it is much more stable

I prefer IE 5.5, I have hardly had any lock-ups at all

i have heard there are a few people who have scrolling-speed issues on IE5.5 when a page has flash and u wana scroll that page

it is slow as hell
