IE 11 ctrl-click

My company finally upgraded IE to IE 11. Wonderful.

Now for my question. If I ctrl-click a link, it opens in a new tab. If I follow up with a second ctrl-click it opens in a new window.

Ya, so WTF. This happens on all web sites. ALLL.

And to make it even more WTF. If I ctrl-click on a link in those new windows, it opens more new windows instead of using tabs in those new windows.

Pissed,
IHMJ

My system doesn't do this - I'm running it on Win7 Pro. CTRL-click opens in a new tab no matter how many times I use it in a row.

If you start an IE11 session with addons disabled (i.e. type , iexplore -extoff in the search/run box) does the same thing happen? Also, have you tried to go in to IE's advanced settings and set the browser back to defaults?

This is a clean install that work did. I'll do the checks you mention.

Worse comes to worse, I'll contact my works help desk. I'll have to see if other people have the same problem.

I am using 7 also with IE 11, I always use the scroll wheel button and new tab is where everything opens.

BTW thanks a lot for the Music links in your signature!

I'll try the center mouse click (button 3) method and see what happens.

I verified with a coworker that they have the same issue.

As for the music links, you are welcome. They are very good sites to go to for free live music. Some of the recordings are very high quality. Archive is generally pretty good with reviews so you know what you are getting. bt.etree is hit and miss but more current. At bt.etree you are sometimes best off searching for band member names like "claypool" or "buckethead" since some artists such as those play the occasional show with a different band.
