IE 10 is Pretty Fast for Me

been using IE10 since it became part of windows update. gotta say it's pretty snappy for me (win 7 x86). still keeping FF as my primary browser but so far im liking what im seeing in IE10.

Yep, it's a pretty nice browser now. If you set it up correctly you can get some pretty decent security out of it as well.

I would've used it as my main browser if it loaded all the sites I visit properly

some of them, they don't even have the IE compatibility mode button so I have to go to developer tools and force IE into IE9 mode but that changes the browser identifier globally so I don't want to keep it always

Chrome FTW

IE is always slow to adopt current web standards and this is why IE doesn't work properly on many sites.

as for "snappy"... what does that mean? is that sort of like the terms audiophiles use when describing things that have no meaning.. such as "presence" etc?

IE10 is strange for me. Absolutely the fastest browser ever and pages look beautiful but MS removed the simple things like right click to search. I can't begin to understand why they removed so much. I'll keep using it for awhile but if they don't build it back up I'm going back to Opera or FF.

I still have right click to search in my ie10...

I was just saying in another thread- ie10 is king right now. its by far ms's best browser ever, and I think currently its the best period. I don't care how many tabs you have open, ie9/10 doesn't break.

wtf? really? In win 8 or 7? I'm on 8 on multiple machines and don't have the option.
Only option is "copy".

by snappy I refer to the seemingly fast startup (being part of the os and all), web page loading and general feel of the browser overall (compared to ie9). right click on ie10 works for me as well. im on win 7 x86.

IamDavid- its win7 ultimate n.

maybe its just not enabled by default for you. try clicking on the down arrow next to the search button. go to "add" and set google as your default.

anyone know of a good adblocker (like abp for ff) for ie10? 8i tried simple adblocker but some ads still get through.

I have a friend who found the ability to go into the "manage add-ons" screen, then to Tracking Protection. You can add some ad blockers there that seems to work pretty well. Would be worth a shot.

What.....no chrome love in the house? 🙂

I find myself tending toward chrome a lot lately, but mostly because workstations at work are on XP and won't do any IE udpdates. I tried Firefox over the years but always went back to IE.

Chrome is nice, but it when you first open it, it's definitely more like "booting" a window than "opening". And even though I always add the drop down history menu, it's still not the me as goo ole IE's version.

Nevtheless, until my work life revolves around post-XP, I use chrome.

youre questioning why nobody is talking about chrome inside an ie thread, while using software that is outdated by an entire decade.

Observant he is. 🙄

And Firefox? Microsoft bought them this morning? 😉

Oh, and I'll worry about the date of my software when it quits making my mortgage payment. Til then, my concerns will remain preferential at best.

IE10 is definitely fast enough for me - besides, I'm in no hurry. My main like is that all my custom links and icons work perfectly. They work marginally in Firefox, and not at all in Chrome.
