Idle power differences between Athlon x 4 860K + dGPU and APUs?

Recently I bought an A8-7670K with the intent to compare idle power consumption with a Athlon x 4 860K and GT730 GDDR5 and GT710.

Unfortunately my board had problems so I wasn't able to do the test.

So does anyone have links on how much idle power consumption delta to expect between a like clocked 95W APU (eg, A8-7670K and A8-7690K) and Athlon x 4 860K with small dGPU?

Anyone?

My guess is that the idle power difference would not be very much.

Not a massivedifference but the APU will use significantly less, especially in idle. When I was comparing an AMD 5800k vs a intel i3 and discreet small card, the APU was using less power despite the massive superiority of the intel CPU efficiency wise. AMD vs AMD the difference will be much more pronounced.

From the benchmarks I've seen AMD seems to have very, very good idle power consumption numbers on their APUs. They even beat Intel at this somehow. The situation turns on its head when load comes into play.

IGPs have a nice advantage for idle power usage, a discrete card, a very efficient one will easily use near 10W idle, worse cards can use over 20W easily doing almost nothing, while IGPs barely use any additional power while idling, they don't have additional components like memory and so on.

My i5 system idles at 25w (at the wall) on the iGPU and 37w with my HD7850 installed.

Thank you.

EDIT: Apparently the AMD dGPU will reduce idle power a great deal when the screen is off though---> http://www.anandtech.com/show/5261/amd-radeon-hd-7970-review/11

Some idle power measurements I made with A10-7860K, Athlon x4 860K, GT730 GDDR5, GT 710. This using MSI A68HI AC Mini-ITX board, 2 x 4GB DDR3 2133 RAM, 120GB SSD, HEC 350W 80 plus Bronze ATX PSU:

(Keep in mind the A10-7860K is a 65W APU while the Athlon x4 860K is a 95W processor.)

A10-7860K: 23.2W idle
A10-7860K with GT 710: 29.9W
A10-7860K with GT 730 GDDR5: 31.8W

Athlon x4 860K with GT 710: 34.6W
Athlon x4 860K with GT 730 GDDR5: 36.2W

I wonder what the idle would have been if I used a 95W APU? ~5W higher than the 65W A10-7860K?

Idle power shouldn't be any different. The higher wattage chips should only draw more when loaded.
