#%$%#^$#^$ IDIOTS

D*mn morons at work screwed up my pay. I was supposed to get a raise for this past pay period. BOY did I have a shock today. NO PAY. They screwed up my raise so I didn't even get paid at my old rate. I have to wait 2 weeks to get my pay. FREAKIN RETARDED. :|

I am just shocked. I don't think I am going to do much work today, just going to sit on my candy ass. Screw them. AHHHHHHH

Jim

no way, i would think they would have pay you something! make them pay! tell them a big bill is due, make them cut you a company check, it's happened to me before, and that's what i did...

what kind of candy ? and i'm voluntarily unemployed. so i wont be seeing any
real money for only a couple more weeks - hopefully. in the meantime, you
may need to see a proctologist to treat the reaming you received from
your superiors today and to address the infintely more serious 'candy ass'
concern.

YEAH, had it been your fault, like you didnt turn in a time sheet or something, then ok, but if you are not in error, they should pay you.

I guess none of you guys watch WWF(with the Rock)?

I have my boss on the hunt to kill whoever screwed me over. Damn human resources. BTW I do have big bills to pay :|

BigBooty, they required me to turn in my timesheet an EXTRA week early so I could get my raise!!!!

Jim

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to withhold your pay for two weeks due to an error on their part. State wage and labor laws would prevent this. They should be forced to cut you a manual check.

I see school's out for the summer where you live? 🙂

if you ask payroll, or accounting they could be talked into cutting you a emergency check. shouldnt be a big deal. Most large and small companies have a procedure for this.

Reminds me of my prison days..

Bob Slydell: Milton Waddams.

Bill Lumbergh: Who's he?

Bob Porter: You know, squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot.

Bill Lumbergh: Oh, yeah.

Bob Slydell: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here.

Bob Porter: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that he was laid off five years ago and no one ever told him, but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck.

Bob Slydell: So we just went a ahead and fixed the glitch.

Bill Lumbergh: Great.

Dom Portwood: So um, Milton has been let go?

Bob Slydell: Well just a second there, professor. We uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it will just work itself out naturally.

Bob Porter: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem solved from your end.

<skoorb being a dickhead>
You shouldn't be living paycheck to pay check unless you can really help it!
</skoorb being a dickhead>

That sucks, I hate it when HR does stuff like that!

skoorb,

I am a student. I working this summer for my university and taking the summer off from school. So yes I will live paycheck to paycheck 🙂 Not to get too deep into my financial life but I go to school taking a 15 hours a semester and work 30 hours a week to make ends meet.

Jim

thats right man, dont do jack crap, just sit there and post, read and post, read and post. screw them those bastards.!

danny~! if someone messed with my pay, I would throw the biggest damn fit, and wait until they pay me, danny doesnt wait 2 weeks! oh no! not right now!

Danny,

I have done what I can. From what I have read they have 48 hours to pay me. They are doing the paperwork for special pay. I can bitch all I want but it won't get anything more. This is a university and most of the "important" people have already left. The one person I wanted to talk to has left for the day(Head of Payroll). So yes I am going to sit at my job making my $8/hour and not do a damn thing(besides posting). My bosses know it and don't mind because they know I got shafted.

Jim

I would contact Human Resources (HR) on your campus (or whoever handles hiring) and let them know about the situation immediately. Let them know that you must have money to survive for the next two weeks, until the next pay cycle is run, and ask about getting a temporary check or cash advance against what they owe you.

If you have been receiving pay checks from them, and they do not have a record of termination for you, you may be able to file a complaint through Wage & Hour (and HR should have posted documentation in their office for how to go about doing that - both Federal and state minimum wage laws require such). If they can't/won't cut you a temporary check or provide a cash advance, your next call should be to the complaint people - and let HR know that you intend to do that.

I just talked to my boss some more. I found out what actually happened. The payroll department did their part. HR is actually the department that screwed up. They had to process the raise. They required me to fill out two time sheets, one for one with at my old pay and one for my new pay. It confused the person in HR so they just shreded the paperwork. I can't believe people just shred something instead of asking what it is.......

Jim

Then you definitely have a Wage & Hour complaint on your hands.

If money is not forthcoming by 2 PM (usual bank cutoff time) this afternoon, I, for one, would stand in the HR office and read out loud the address and phone number of where to file a complaint, then ask "Where is my paycheck?" every time anyone comes near you.

Keep after them - you may want to file a complaint anyway, given the latest piece of news you have. That is completely unacceptable as a business practice.
