I bought my Michelin tires from Sears, and they rock. Sears also fixes leaks, rotates and balances them for free no matter which Sears I purchased the tires at, so I take the car there for the free stuff. My suspension is totally shot, and my BMW rides like a boat or a 1970?s Lincoln. The guy in the work bay showed me that the read struts were OK, and really all I needed was the front. I love this, because I had 2 other places try to tell me that I needed front and rear replaced $1300, as opposed to $500 for front only. I was trilled ? this guy oozes competence and honesty. So, I decided I would have them do the work. So, I go up front to the inside area, and he tells the girl at the register what parts to order so they can fix my car. She is on the phone with the parts department and orders a whatchamacallit, and he says no he needs a whatchamajigger, and she orders the whatchamathinggy, and he says no get a whatchamajigger, and she says whatchamajiggy, and he says no a whatchamajigger. I am thinking, oh sh!t, she is going to order the wrong part, and it is going to cost more. She tells me it is all-cool, and sets up a morning appointment to bring the car back. Cool. I do it. So, this morning I drop the car off and I have a co-worker pick me up, and they tell me the car will be ready in 2 hours (Lunch time) so I figure I will just get a ride there during lunch hour and return with the car fixed. At noon I called Sears. Surprise, Surprise, they ordered the wrong part, and had to order a new one from BMW ? It will be there tomorrow. So, I said, well I will just come get my car and bring it back tomorrow. They say, well it is all apart now, we will have to call you when we have it back together. Is there any way to avoid this sort of crap?
