Thing I saw on it said extensive brain tissue loss. Injuries like his are usually due to be deprived of oxygen over long periods of time.
This is sad, the kid isn't dead but he isn't aware or responsive in any way.
I'll agree what he did was stupid and I'll also say any American that goes to Iran or North Korea is asking for problems however this does not mean what happened to him is right, think of his Family they may have to look at and care for him for years maybe decades. Just think of the sorrow and guilt that will follow them.

North Korea is absolutely the latter. A war should be expected and prepared for. And with long term planning with global partners. South Korea especially needs to be prepared, and figure out how to empty Seoul long before the first nuke is fired. We're talking urban planning and development to depopulate the city as much as possible. We're talking slowly, over the course of years. Because a nuclear war may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but with these crazy SOBs you have to plan for the worst.
