What I want to know is where in the world this kid was going to go if he didn't face plant. It was probably best he did otherwise he would have launched off the other end and really got messed up.

Same here, it doesn't look like a ramp made for one jump so he probably would have ended up worse off coming down backwards if he pulled it off.
