IDF soldiers claim that the commander walked up to the girl after she had been shot to 'confirm the kill' and unloaded many bullets at close range. She had a backpack on which the IDF said looked suspicious but she was 400 metres away before they started shooting - she posed no threat even if she had a bomb - which she didn't have.

The other day another 10 year old girl was shot in the stomach by IDF as she sat at a desk in her classroom at the same UN school where another 10 year old girl was shot and killed while sitting at her desk a month ago by IDF.

Human rights groups say at least 30 Palestinian children have been killed since Israel launched an incursion into Gaza more than two weeks ago

There is always a big media reaction when there are innocent Israelis killed, which is of course expected, but what about the innocents on the other side? Or are there none?

 
sounds like the fellow Israeli soldiers are outraged as they're the ones who brought this out and got it some news attention. Now there is going to be an investigation because they were brave enough to speak out.
 
Wow. This Captain R. is one crazy bastard. Such awful events are indicative of the behavior of Captain R. Captain R should be removed from the IDF and given the punishment he deserves

I'm curious...why don't the Palestinians try a generally peaceful civil disobedience, like Gandhi or MLK Jr.?

I have no idea but I will agree with you and say I don't know why that question isn't asked more often.

I also want to know what the goals of Palestinian leaders are as well as the goals of the Palestinian populace.

Another question: Would violence cease (or significantly diminish to levels of normal crime) were Palestinians to gain fully autonomous control over the West Bank and Gaza Strip? Violence to include IDF @ behest of Israel gov't toward Palestinian Xs or Palestinian Xs toward Israeli civilians.

(Insert whichever loaded description you want for X...)

If the Palestinian people can do peaceful civil disobedience demonstrations then it would put them on the side of 'Good'. How can Israel be able to stand up against a peaceful protest? There would be worldwide outrage if Israel did anything very violent against such a demonstration. I don't think a modern nation like Israel would be able to ignore such a situation.

There have been peaceful demonstrations, but Israel continues to move their tanks closer to the demonstrators. There have been many documented cases where people just stand in the way of Israeli tanks and the tank does not stop. Demonstrators have also been shot. What would they demonstrate against exactly?

Look at the history of the Palestinian people. Surrounding them people are dying. They are not allowed to leave their house or they will be shot. They cannot go to work. Homes are being destroyed. Surrounding neighbors don't care. The world just doesn't seem to care for them (even their own Arab neighbors).

I'm talking about massive demonstrations...but I guess that would be too idealistic or almost impossible at this point.

Palestinians using their own kids as suicide bombers.

Violence begets violence.

The cycle will only end when everybody is dead?
 
I love how sick crap like this is just some rogue guy dismissed by the US in general, but when it's the "other side", we lump them under the banner of terrorism and vow to defeat them. It's a god damn double standard and really I could care less which side you are on, that crap is terrorism no matter who does it.

Those particular IDF "soldiers" and everyone like them are terrorists just as surely as Osama bin Laden is. And if we are really serious about ending terrorism, we can't pretend this is any different.
