Q is just the latest & greatest chapter of right wing hackery & quackery-

When did Rolling Stone go behind a paywall???

Fuck.

The is THE MAIN problem with information today. Virtually all professional, reputable media is going behind paywalls leaving the tabloids and propaganda sites as the only open sites.

The funny part is, a lot of us don't really see a distinction between modern conservatism and qanon. They haven't made any spent any real effort distinguishing themselves from any other conspiratorial groups.

The other part of it is that it makes it hard to see news from a variety of viewpoints. Unless you have lots of money to spend on subscribing to umpteen different sources, including ones you don't actually like, you are only going to see things reported by the outlet you like sufficiently to be prepared to pay money to.

It's the P&N version of proprietary platforms for games or movies (music and books are probably going the same way).

There was a brief period, after the dawn of the web but before all the paywalls and walled-gardens, when you could painlessly see how different outlets reported any given story. Now unless you have a highish income you have to pick a team and stick with it. Even before the web you could accidentally find yourself reading yesterday's copy of newspapers you don't normally buy (or even actively dislike), but without physical copies lying around I think it's now worse than it was before, with regard to diversity of information sources.
(Edit - I'm really hoping podcasts don't all go to premium subscription services...that seems to be almost the last source of free information you can just accidentally pick up or consume for it's own sake)

I find it funny that certain people are:
  • decrying the usage of "anonymous sources" in the reporting of the unindicted co-conspirator's heinous comments about the military; and
  • fervently following the statements of an "anonymous source" that the unindicted co-conspirator is the solution to every problem ever.

didn't we already know that the 8chan guy is Q? i'm pretty sure we knew that already

Listen, pal

Some guy posting random, proven-erroneous information on a pornography-sharing website is legitimate.

Multiple sources confirming that high-level officials who at one time worked with Trump said something is true, is DeepState™ level Fake! News!

This has to be true, because my bottom molars told me so.

So how do you propose they make money to pay people to write the articles you want to read?

Are there any qanon folks around here? I don't recall any. Wasn't that pizzagate thing from qanon?

A little off topic: Do these clowns make money off of this stuff? It seems like I'm going to want a hobby when I retire, and a conspiracy site would be a good fit if there is a profit to be made.

OroroRORoroROOOOOoosrroooosrrooros for sure. Speedy, probably.

Compuwiz probably believes that he is Q.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be paid. We just need to find a system that gets them paid, but makes quality news freely available.

I don't think the problem is them not being paid--they are working off of advertising dollars just like the con-artists in the right wing retardosphere.

the problem, unfortunately, is the content. It appears that enough people simply can not be bothered to be challenged, which means be informed. They are only interested in what makes them comfortable, and enough actors have been around for enough decades and survive very well on giving these low-education, low-thought people exactly the kind of painless, anodyne content that they crave.

the problem is getting people actually interested in the world as it is, again, and not simply comfortably confirming what their wildest delusions want it to be. Understanding the complexities of the modern world really does require significant effort from every person. That seems to have become too much to ask for republican voters, especially, and there is certainly a viable market of keeping them poorly-informed and heavily dosed on information lithium.

I think a recently awakened account is.
Seems to have some odd rants about pedo’s and odd beliefs in general.

Back on topic:
Duh did anyone think Russia wasn’t involved in this on some level? I mean it is totally obvious.

My money is still on some form of autism as a driver. Dude is on a way different wavelength.

So has this been confirmed? He’s the owner of 8chan, the OP source is a medium article, and I googled and no news sources are reporting it that I can tell. Put me in the skeptical category but who knows. I do know one thing, Q is somebody.
