Identifying IDE cables...

non technically, the connectors for an ata66/100 cable will be black,grey & blue while with an ata33 cable all the connectors are black!
 
All IDE cables are 40PIN.


ATA33 has 40 wires, 1 per pin.

ATA66/100 are the same thing. 80 wires, 1 per pin and 1 inbetween to ground.
