Identifying IDE cables...

Hey all,

Was wondering how do I differentiate between the IDE cables? ATA33/66/100?

ata33 and lower are 40pin , but the ata66 and ata100 are the same cable, and they have 80 pin

non technically, the connectors for an ata66/100 cable will be black,grey & blue while with an ata33 cable all the connectors are black!

All IDE cables are 40PIN.


ATA33 has 40 wires, 1 per pin.

ATA66/100 are the same thing. 80 wires, 1 per pin and 1 inbetween to ground.
