can someone please tell me a what connector do i need to connect these too, the one on the left is the antenna and the other is the pigtail(red)

Kinda, but doesn't it look a bit thick? Hard to tell on that picture...
Also, the male looks a bit...well it's cliche, but short but thick?
 
The one on the left is a PL259. Commonly used in UHF equipment and CB radios.

Do a google search on PL259 and you'll find a number of places selling adapters.

Depending on what you want to plug it in to you might be better off cutting off the existing plug and installing the one you need. Many (most) types have solderless versions available if you're "soldering challenged"
