I had been trying to figure out what's the number of an IC that was burnt out from a power supply of my Cisco 2960 switch. If any one could identify it, i will be glad and be very thankful.

Whoa! If you're talking about IC1, the 8 pin critter next to the vertical sturcture, the top is completely blown off, and it's no longer an IC, it's an SED (Smoke Emitting Device). 😱

I couldn't find any schematics in a quick Google search. Your best options may be to contact Cisco's tech support to ask them for the info or to find another similar switch and get the part number from that circuit board.

It looks like a through hole part on a relatively inexpensive board (not multi-layer) so it should be pretty easy to replace it if you can ID the part number.

Good luck. 🙂
