So my sob story is going from an athletic, 6'3" 185 lb 17 year old, to a lazy fat 6'4" 280lb 21.5 year old. I've tried on and off for the past 4 years to stop the slide, but it has gotten way out of hand. I always give up after a month or so once I stop caring and don't see results.

I can't run (yet) since it hurts my body too much, so elliptical is my only option at this point. I'm looking for simple meals I can make/take to school and work with me and exercises I can do in the 1 hour of time I will have to "work out". I will start using fitday again, but still need something else i can create a plan with. I put sedentary lifestyle in for fitday, and it claims I burn over 3200 calories a day just living, which I honestly don't believe.

Any thoughts or suggestions for people who went through this?

The best thing to do is to start tracking your food intake. Even if you don't make any changes, you'll see how much you actually eat. Most people severely underestimate their intake. From there you can make adjustments. To make it easier for you, rather than just scrapping everything you currently eat now by replacing it with "healthy" stuff, transition slowly. If you see that on fitday most of your calories are coming from soda throughout the day (just an example, I don't know how you eat), then your first step should be to eliminate that problem by either replacing it with diet soda or, even better, water.

As for exercise - you don't need to run on the treadmill for an hour everyday to see fat loss, just concentrate on moving more. Even little things help like going for walks. Also, I would suggest some sort of resistance training. Whether it be bodyweight movements at the house or a full body free weight routine in the gym, do something.

Yeah I've started up fitday again, and I can easily <= 2500 a day with what I'm eating now and still be full. I honestly was doing fastfood/pizza/ice cream all the time before, so I needed to overhaul the diet. I just don't believe that my body burns over 3k a day with no movement.

It's a 2-week rotating menu. Super easy meals. btw, sandwiches = meat, tomato slices, lettuce, 1 Tbps Lite Mayo, and Whole-Wheat Bread.

nice, thanks. I'll use that to help plan meals. My problem is that although I wake up at 730 everyday, I can't eat before 12 or i get sick for some reason. This problem has tended to make me eat alot at the end of the day right before bed

That usually means one of two things:

1. You have a food allergies
2. You need a diet change

Do you have any other symptoms aside from not feeling like eating before noon?

Otherwise:

1. Do you eat healthy now?
2. Do you eat within an hour or two of bed?

The two biggest things that helped me were (1) switching to a healthy diet and (2) to stop eating 2-3 hours before bedtime. I used to not eat until 11 or noon, just made me sick. Switching my diet over to clean food (stuff from the earth, not factories, boxes, or fast-food places) and eating my last meal about 3 hours before bed changed that. It took about 2 weeks, but as my body adjusted to the better food and different eating times, I was able to eat in the morning without feeling sick. Right now I start my day with an 8oz glass of water (to rehydrate myself after sleeping all night), then eat my first meal after doing cardio in the morning (just 1/2 cup of fiber, like toast, oatmeal, shredded wheat, etc.). Then 5 more meals after that. I now have super high energy and feel great all day! :)

Yeah I don't know, I just get massive stomach aches if I eat anything first thing in the morning. Maybe the new healthy diet will fix that, and the stoppage of eating 10 minutes before bed. I'll give it a few weeks and see if it changes any, thanks.

Yeah I had the same thing, stomachaches if I ate in the morning. The first thing I'd recommend is stop eating 3 hours before bed. After that, try cleaning up your diet for a week - no drugs/alcohol/cigarettes, no junk food/sugar food/processed food/fast food. The 2-3 hour buffer before bed also killed my acid reflux, I haven't had it since April thanks to my new diet! Try that first for a week, starting tonight if possible. If you still have stomachaches after a week, start by cleaning up your diet, and if you're still having issues after that, it may be time to look into allergies.
