My brother-in-law got me a free ebox-3300 from a conference:

http://www.compactpc.com.tw/ebox-3300.htm

It's tiny and uses very little power, has a 1GHz processor with 256MB of RAM & totally fanless (silent). Has several USB ports, CF port and a micro-SD slot (no HD). I put in a 4GB CF card and managed to install linux on it. Now...what to do with it?

I could install it on the back of my main PC's monitor or even the upstairs TV.
I could hook up an external USB drive and turn it into a NAS, but it only has 10/100Mbps LAN :(
We have only 1 printer in the house and I could just set it up as a printserver, but that seems like kind of a waste.

HTPC maybe? I could probably install XBMC and play movies & music from an external USB drive but it doesn't have a TV tuner and seems a bit limited for this purpose.

Any other ideas?

Wow that is awesome. I wish these were more readily available and easy to get with various configs. If it had two nics it would make a very nice firewall box.

It does have USB though which opens up various possibilities. Could maybe act as a security camera box if you can manage to find a web cam that supports linux.

Buy a small touch screen monitor and turn it into a kitchen or car PC. Find some kind of chassis that will fold up and allow you to hide it easily.

File server, web server, bittorrent server, printer server, kitchen computer for recipes or entertainment while cooking? There's lots of options.

Wow, looks pretty sweet! All kinds of possibilities, but the question is whether you need those things.

remote video surveillance. bundle it with a small solar panel and set it up to watch my garden plot. someone stole the wheat but nothing else. it was only about a square meter of wheat, and i can not figure out why someone would steal such a small amount of wheat.

Does yours have an optional 2nd ethernet port? You could make a nice ipcop router, FreeNAS, or clarkconnect.

"The globe worming is the most concern issue recent years." --quote from the specs pdf. Interesting words ...

they seem to not say much about it ...
