ideas for a system build ?

hello I am probably going to need to build up a system soon to be uses at a reception desk for a buisness and need to keep it under $900 and probably will purchase parts from newegg.
I allready have the monitor so thats not going to be part of the cost.
Standard apps like ms office, etc will be used of corse.
512MB ram minimum.
Will have to purchase eather windows xp pro or windows 2000 pro oem ok 🙂

Any Ideas?
Im thinking of an amd solution but i think intel might posible be a beter choice with an intel mobo for rock solid stability. Thats sort of the main thing the system needs to be stable 😉
 
AMD solution would be best since they rule at price/performance and they now have both the low and high-end covered.

Something like this:
Athlon 64 3000+ or 3200+ ($240ish)
The board you like ($120ish)
512 to 1GB of PC3200 or higher ram ($80-->$160)
160GB drive ($80 locally)
Case that you like
Win XP Pro OEM
Office XP or 2k3OpenOffice (if you're short on $)

And the remaining part on a fast enough video card for you.
 
ok thanks for the ideas. What I think Im going to do for now is come up with an amd option and intel option so they can be compared later on. Uhm whats a good amd board these days still based off of nforce 2 i assume?
