It seems like the only ones available are the Audi A/S4 and Volvo S40. The S40 is a piece as junk as my cousin just bought one and is having huge problems with it.

Anything else come to mind? No Subaru or Evo suggestions please.

Ahh, car for showing to the bosses during lunch, yet having fun to drive, and be practical.

S4, or IS300 (Altezza). I know those come in manual, but not sure about AWD. Probably this year.

The IS does not have AWD and manual. Neither does the G35. I hate the 5 series so that's not a consideration. I thought the 3 had AWD but it apparently is not out until October and they were not sure if it came in stick.

No Subarus. I used to own one. They are not luxury cars IMO. I've reached a point in my life where I'm looking for a bit more luxury in my cars.

The dealer said no. There was no interest in it although he did say they might have a G35c in AWD within 2 years.

Didn't mention somewhere in this thread no Subarus? Since when did Subaru become a luxury/near luxury car manufacturer?

Have you ridden in one of the new Legacies especially the limited ones? Quite different from the old, though still not as luxury as a 5-series BMW.

I would assume you meant the Impreza WRX.

Again. I'm not interested in Subarus. I'm looking for something more higher end.

Freebee, I forgot about the X type but I'm not a big fan of Jags.

S4 is nice, but pricey. Go for the A4, the 1.8T version. I got it, love it - you can mod it pretty good. I got a ecu upgrade, gained 50 hp and 80 ft-lbs of torque.

I would stay away from Audi if I were you. I knew someone who sold Audis for a living and he still was not fond of the cars, after witnessing a lot of his customers returning again and again for repairs. However, he did state that Audi is pioneer in comfort and interior design; Japanese especially have copied Audi interior designs.

I guess it would help if you gave a price range and if you would like new or used...

I looked at the new 2.0T and its nice but I think its too pricey for what you get. I think it priced out to $37K with the features I wanted. $37K for a 2L car is ridiculous.

Up to $40K-$45K. Preferrably new but something like a used S4 may not be bad.
