everyone else already told you that you need to get your body fat down through cardio, so I'll chime in saying that I do Steve Prefontaine's ab workout which consists of 50 regular crunches, 25 crunches to each side with opposite foot on other leg, 25 to each side laying on side, 50 bicycles, 50 leg lifts, 25 switchblades and 50 squiggly monsters. It works very well.

What exactly is a squiggly monster?

doing more than 20 situps/crunches in 1 set is pointless. if you are doing crunches properly, you will barely be able to do 20 of them in a row.

EDIT:

your abs are like any other muscle. would you do 55 curls or 55 bench presses? i highly doubt it ...

I don't know what a curl is, but my record for bench pressing is 137 times in a row (only my own body weight, tough..).

Abs have a lot to do with what you eat. Also make sure that you use proper form. What many people who are new to working out/lifting is that they try to do as much weight/reps as possible and lose the proper technique. Make sure you go nice and slow up and down and are using your ABS not your arms pulling up your head or momentum to throw yourself up. Also mix up different types of crunches to work different areas of your abs, if you search google I'm sure you can find plenty of quick ab workouts.

Let me tell a bit more about myself.

My length is 183 cm, and my weight is (with my clothes on) 72 kg. I don't eat a lot, but I'm almost always thirsty.. I don't smoke, I excercise a lot (situps, pushups etc.) and I don't love chocolate.

I ride my bike 5 days a week, 2 km a day (I like 1 km from school), and it takes me ~2,5 minutes (for one ride, ie 1 km), at the maximum treshold level.

I don't plan on buying expensive equipment or spending hours upon hours in the gym (we have one, but I can't afford membership).

That's it, really..

Doing situps right is more important than how many you can do and how fast you can do them. If you aren't having trouble doing them, then you are wasting your time.

a squiggly monster is where you sit on your bum with your ankles crossed and feet a few inches in the air, wrap your arms around your torso and twist back and forth quickly. It works the obliques.
