Ideal computer case?

For me, it would be a small, quiet case. Doesn't need to have all the bling, nor do I want quad-SLI to suck my wall outlet dry.

Don't need SLI either--single graphics would do fine. Perhaps room for two drives, and maybe an extra expansion slot exluding the PCIe.

BUT it certinaly needs to be small and stylish.

You?

LOL I love the description: "Now you can own any noob ever spawned with this ultra-mean case in classic black finish."

- of course you can own noobs. seems like the case won't help you own leets

My ideal case? That's easy.

-Spacious
-Quiet
-Good Ventilation
-Easy to Work With
- Cheap

Of course no such perfect case exists, but it's nice to dream. 🙂

Ideal for me would depend on the purpose of the box.

If it's for my HTPC, quiet + cool + aesthetics take priority over space and cost.
If it's for my File server, then room for LOTS of drives, and the abillity to keep those drives cool, as well as room to work inside the box are my priorities, where as the sound level and aesthetics take a back seat.
For my lan box, I want something lightweight and small yet is big enough for a couple of hard drives, a dvd burner, a big video card, and a decent mobo.
For my primary workstation, quiet is good, but I want there to be room for lots of drives, and room to work inside the case.

Therefore, there is no single ideal computer case.

If I had to pick an ideal case, maybe the Antec Solo would fit the bill ...

I like the Antec Sonata II myself... It's relatively compact, has lots of drive bays, is really quiet, AND is only $50 after rebate on Newegg right now.

I'm thinking of going fanless. I figure if I do and put the HD's in an some kind of enclosure I can leave the covers off for cooling.

So my case will look like an erector set 🙂

I don't care what it looks like. My current case is beige, and the plastic on front is yellowed. I have mis-matched optical drives - one grey, one black.

I value a case that is quiet and easy to work in - slide-in drive rails, etc

I wouldn't mind a nice small case for a media center, but half-height PCI and graphics cards are a pain in the ass to find.

There are some that fit full size cards. I'm getting a mATX mobo and a media center case. I'm sick of lugging huge cases around when I transport my PC.
