noob to THIS forum here.. but I got an Idea.. what do you peeps think?

For those who have this board and may never get re-embursed for Epox's AGP 2.0 compatibility flub up and MUST have or BOUGHT the GF4 Vision Tech card.

Of course this is gonna smash any waranty on the board IF there is any left.

Take and remove the offending cap with sodering iron and soder remover of choice and soder on extention pins to the cap's pins and bend them in an L shape and resoder the cap back in laying in a horizontal position!!

Worth a try for someone with nothing to loose. I am sure a lot of you are certified to do this kind of work.. I can DO it ,, but I am not certified.. and see THAT makes a LOT of difference...*COUGH*

here is a too simple Pic.. http://clox.iwarp.com/Pictures/capmod.jpg

I hadn't heard anything about the incompatability between the Epox 8HKA+ and the Visiontek GF4 until this, and then looked over at AMDMB.com and found this thread in the forums here. I will be interested in seeing how this develops. Apparently there is something over at Hardocp about it as well, but IE locksup when trying to access the site.

I`m going to wait and see what develops, not sure if the Epox 8KHA+ problem is just with the Visiontek or all the GF4 brands, anyway if I`ve too I`ll wait for the GF5 .
