Idea for using Bays for airflow/cooling

Most of the bay coolers out these days either point straight down or are so tiny that they become more or less useless. Here's my thought:

in a 5.25 bay, two 80mm fans can fit snugly side-by-side. With a little hot-glue and some ingenuity (and perhaps a baycooler to help streamline the process) I'm thinking of putting these in by the CPU end and using them to pull air away from the CPU and up through the bay cooler, therefore making my bay cooler more efficient and increasing the coolness of my rig (which is a mid-tower btw, not a lot of space to work with). Does this seem feasible?

I already have one, that's why.

It still doesn't solve the problem of making the bay suck air away from the CPU. Even pointed into an empty bay, it still is terribly inefficient at cooling w/o a secondary fan-base...or at least that's my theory.

Perhaps a line of 3 60mm fans running exhaust in the bay directly under the bay cooler would do the same effect, since I had to re-arrange some drives anyways.

most efficient way is to slice a hole above or beside the cpu and feed it air:p if you want exhaust add a blowhole

It would be more efficient to get a tower, like the antec 1080... that's going to create a better cooling situation than playing with fans.

i was thinking of doin the same thing. i have 4 bays but only the top 2 are being used. BUT i cant get 2 80mm to fit so i think i'm gonna just use a tornado or a smartfan

hmm I dunno if your bays are off-sized or not but with two bays 2 80mms side-by-side fit snugly. I had to do some rearranging with my drives so I lost a bay but 3 60mms can work as well. I dunno how that will work exactly, but I'll figure out someway. I might even get that bay cooler with the 3 60mms and use it on the backend of the drive bays. Who knows.
